A Member of the House of Representatives Invited SBF to the Committee Session

Member of the House of Representatives Maxine Waters praised the “sincere” comments of Sam Bankman-Fried, inviting him to the committee session.

The chairman of the Financial Services Committee, Maxine Waters, said that SBF made frank comments in connection with the collapse of FTX, and therefore invited her to a committee hearing, which will be held on December 13.

Invitation from a Member of the House of Representatives to the SBF

Waters, who made the announcement via his Twitter account, said the following:
“We appreciate you being sincere in your comments about what happened at FTX. Your willingness to speak publicly will help the company’s customers, investors and others. For this purpose, we would be glad to have you attend our hearing on December 13.”

SBF announced last month that he was stepping down as CEO at FTX after it filed for bankruptcy.

Since the day he resigned, SBF has shared various posts on Twitter and made statements to media outlets to make sense of what led to the collapse experienced by the crypto company. He said he did not recall details about how he had run the company in recent days.

The former CEO of FTX said that he may attend future congressional hearings, but did not say anything about Waters’ invitation.
